Day 13 (Sunday, June
2nd) Frogner Park, Oslo. Outside the box. |
Stay
tuned for the rest of the hotel adventure, it happens later today so wait
for it. Every once in awhile, no matter how exciting the trip,
there occur some events that really stand out. Our visit to Frogner
Park in Oslo was one of those. In 1921 Gustav Vigeland made a deal
with the city. In exchange for a place to work and state support, he
spent his life creating sculptures for Oslo ... the result; Frogner Park
with 192 statues of bronze and granite. He lived his dream and
we are its beneficiaries. |

How romantic! We pose for the statues. It
actually was meaningful to us even if we kept our clothes on! |
 |
| The monolith at left consists of 121 figures, all striving
to reach the top or perhaps just striving to survive.
Diana,
Chris, Cathryn and John in front of gate of playing children. Wishful
thinking? |

Hans below bridge adorned with figures; they are more
impressive close up. |
